“I had coveted Georgia’s design aesthetic from afar so when it came time to renovate our house I knew I wanted to work with The Classic Outfitter team. We engaged Georgia and Merian to help us with a substantial renovation (4 bathrooms, laundry and kitchen and refurbishment of the entire house). From the very first meeting it was obvious we were dealing with an expert, knowledgeable, creative and highly talented team. They listened carefully to our initial ideas and needs and quickly came back with final design briefs for every room which lifted the house to another level.

Throughout the design and project management process, we came to understand that we were benefiting greatly from the teams years of experience. The trust that was built up through the project meant that we were able to defer to the team and go with their suggestions even when it meant pushing us beyond our comfort zone. “Having engaged Georgia and The Classic Outfitter team to help us with our relocation plans, we are a little sad that we have come to the end of the 12 month project to set up our new home in Bowral. Having said that, we are extremely delighted with the outcome.

Right from the beginning when we visited The Classic Outfitter showroom to look at mood boards featuring fabrics, samples of floor coverings and other decorative items, the time, effort, skilful and expert advice that was provided to us was second to none.

Having seen the house completely empty, Georgia was able to create plans for each individual room and provide concept drawings showing the potential positioning of all the proposed furnishings. After gaining an understanding of our vision for the apartment, Georgia presented us with several different options for design, layout, materials and furniture. Along the way she guided us as to what she felt would work well, always taking into account our preferences. She was able to bring ideas together that resulted in a stunning outcome. She is considerate of the budget and very resourceful in sourcing the right product for the right placement, where to allocate more and where to spend a bit less. From our initial consultation to the end result of a fully renovated, styled and furnished apartment, Georgia was timely, responsive and professional in every regard. Her creative and organised approach went well beyond her scope of work, even helping us get quotes and finding a builder. Even though we were not able to meet her face-to-face a lot of the time, she made the whole process seem easy by emailing detailed pictures and drawings. Georgia worked very closely with our builder, was on-site regularly checking in on the progress, always guiding them with beautiful finer details based on her experience. She is confident in the end product and has a unique way of convincing you to remain with her design recommendations so everything is in harmony. Once the building work was completed, she organised and setup up the whole apartment while we were renting elsewhere.

“We engaged The Classic Outfitter to do a significant refurbishment of our house, which involved internal and external colour consultations, new furnishings, flooring and décor. They had been recommended by a friend and we loved the style that they could deliver.

The bespoke ideas proposed for two of the large family rooms came to life through 3D colour rendered designs. This was money well spent as it gave us a clear visual representation as to what the completed rooms would look like. One proposal in particular had initially been completely outside our comfort zone. This room is now one of our favourite places in the house. “Georgia Boyd and her team at The Classic Outfitter completed a bathroom renovation for us at our Federation home in Mosman in late 2019.

We are currently residing in California and we were concerned about how such a project could be managed from a distance and with an impractical time difference. The job was urgent because of waterproofing issues. Georgia took on the job unfazed, with minimal notice and a limited budget.

Her efficient confirmation of the vision reassured us that she understood our briefing. Once that was established, she very effectively communicated the design options, how the work would be conducted, and how much it would cost. Choices of product were shown to us using email and web links. She and her team of builders and tradespeople worked well and respectfully with the agent and tenant. Progress photos and virtual tours were provided to us as the job advanced, and feedback and questions were easy and quick to navigate from afar.

Overall, the job was completed within budget and a tight timeframe, and we are thrilled with the beautiful result. We look forward to using The Classic Outfitter for a much larger renovation of the same house down the track, and we recommend her unreservedly. Thank you Georgia!”

We have given them two design challenges both in an out of town and site unseen situation. The first was for a variety of dining table bench seating, based on a magazine photo. Georgia was not only able to organise the manufacture of the desired seating, but selected material for seating and cushions based on emailed photos of the location. The selection was perfect and complimentary to the existing decoration. Importantly, Georgia was detailed in her questions so as to negate any measuring errors. This had to be a team effort on both our parts. Georgia has also organised the manufacture of lounge seating for the same location - again site unseen. The timeline between initial discussion, manufacture, then delivery was swift and painless. Again, her selection of materials for lounges and cushions was fantastic.
